So Shin Malphur is a Shadow of Yor? At first it seems like he is simply spying but at the end of the last card in Book: For Every Rose, A Thorn that he genuinely wants us to walk the line between Light and Dark, he just is refusing to let us fall completely into Darkness. Anyone who goes to far will be hunted down by “The Man with the Golden Gun”. Shin/Zyre is deceiving the Shadows and the Drifter in order to gain strength from the Dark but not be consumed by it, hence the ideas of “Dredgen Vale”.
